Jesus Gutarra, master Pachamanca
chef from the community of Sicaya in the Mantaro Valley, inherited the skill from his parents and grandparents. While young he work during the day and study at night he became officer for the Bureau of Investigation in Peru. In 1972 he received a master in Development while working for the government he maintain his activities preparing pachamancas as a hobby first but later, when he won a prize on a culinary fair he decided to teach and prepare pachamancas full time.
In less than 10 years he taken this art: making of the Pachamanca all over the world in places such as Chile, Costa Rica, USA and Germany. He has become the master in Pachamancas.
